Overview

FolioX is an all-in-one platform for building professional portfolios and ATS-friendly resumes without code. Job seekers, developers, freelancers, and creators use it to publish a live portfolio, generate recruiter-ready resumes, and share one hireable link from a single profile.

I built FolioX from scratch as a solo founder, covering product strategy, design, frontend, backend, billing, SEO, and growth.

The problem

Most professionals juggle three tools that do not talk to each other: a website builder for their portfolio, a Word doc or Canva template for their resume, and a link page for sharing work. Resumes break in ATS parsers because of bad formatting. Portfolios sit on subdomains that are hard to find. There is little visibility into whether anyone actually visited.

Recruiters skim resumes in seconds. Hiring managers want proof, not claims. The gap between "I built things" and "here is the impact" is where most applications fall short.

What I built

A unified platform where one profile powers both a live portfolio and a downloadable ATS resume:

Portfolio builder: drag-and-drop widgets (projects, GitHub, skills, experience, social, blog, contact forms, and 20+ more), multiple templates with dark/light themes, and built-in SEO
ATS resume builder: single-column, parser-friendly layouts with standard headings, role-specific templates, and one-click PDF export
Analytics dashboard: visitor tracking, traffic sources, geographic insights, resume download counts, and project click-through (Pro)
Custom domains and billing: Dodo Payments subscriptions (Free, Pro at $9/mo, Lifetime at $79), custom domain support with automatic SSL, and a 7-day no-card trial

Everything is mobile-responsive, SEO-optimized, and built for discoverability, not just link-sharing.

Key decisions

One profile, two outputs. Instead of separate resume and portfolio tools, FolioX treats career data as a single source of truth. Update your experience once and both outputs stay aligned.

ATS-first resume formatting. Single column, standard section names, no tables or graphics. The format that gets parsed is often the one that gets read.

SEO as a product feature. Role-specific portfolio guides, resume formatting guides, and glossary pages drive organic traffic. The product is built to be found, not just shared.

Freemium with a clear upgrade path. Free tier publishes on foliox.me/username. Pro unlocks custom domain, analytics, unlimited PDF exports, and AI tools.
